Meet The Team

Gary Reiss is the son of the companies founder, Irv Reiss. He has been managing State Financial Corporation since 2000. Gary works in all aspects of the company’s operations, from sales to account management. He sets the company’s tone to match the needs of its customers. He truly believes any deal must work each of the parties.

Prior to joining the family’s business Gary was general counsel to Fremont financial a large national finance company.

Ed joined State Financial Corporation in 1996.  With over 50 years in the banking and finance industry, Mr. Avalos is responsible for monitoring accounts as well as performing audits of prospective and existing clients.  In addition, he meets with clients, analyzes financial statements, and approves loan advances.  Prior to joining State Financial in 1996, Mr. Avalos held positions at Security Pacific National Bank and Commonwealth Financial Corporation among other prominent financial services companies. When not working Ed likes to travel and spend time with his grandchildren: Taylor, Anthony, Benjamin, Genevieve, and Josephine.

Luz Glickman joined State Financial Corporation in 1993 and has over 25 years of asset based lending experience. In her first 14 years at State Financial Ms. Glickman was a Portfolio Manager and Operations Manager. She is currently Vice President and State Financial’s senior business development officer. Prior to working in the asset based lending industry, Luz was in banking.

Luz has two daughters and in her spare time, she enjoys the beach, traveling, and golf .

Imelda joined State Financial Corporation in 2007, shortly after graduating from UC Irvine.  With over 20 years of experience in accounting roles, she now manages a portion of the company’s Portfolio.  She is dedicated to maintaining working relationships with our clients, understanding their needs, and providing solutions that meet their objectives.
Her role has also expanded into auditing prospective and existing clients where gaining an understanding of the business – its operations, risks, and internal control environment, is the primary focus.  Imelda is committed to our clients through a hands-on, full-service approach – keeping professionalism at the heart of the relationship.
When Imelda isn’t crunching numbers, she enjoys gardening, art museums, and spending time with her two dogs.

Mansy Tabibnia is Persian American and was educated in England. She immigrated to America in 1986, joining us in February of 2007 when American Bancorp, with whom she was a collections and credit manager since 1994, merged with State Financial Corporation. Ms. Tabibnia has over 16 years experience in accounts receivable financing.

In her spare time, she likes to attend physiology seminars, enjoys Persian literature and poems, follows international political and economic affairs and enjoys walking, going to the gym and traveling.

Keresa Shelton joined State Financial Corporation in 2011. She previously worked for Continental Business Credit as an Operations Assistant. She has been working in the finance industry for over 10 years. She is an experienced Account Executive with enthusiasm, dedication and an exceptional work ethic.

In her spare time she enjoys watching football, basketball, baseball, traveling and spending time with her family and close friends.
